Handle your email and work efficiently with office tools


Keep your mobile office organised and effective with the tools in your Nokia E63. Access your company’s intranet with the mobile VPN. Receive both your business email and personal email straight to your mobile device. Open and handle email attachments. Setting up email

You can handle your email straight from the Nokia E63. Learn how to set up different types of email accounts with the email wizard, and you’ll be able to receive both your business and personal email on your device.

Setting up email with the email wizard

1. From the home screen, scroll to the email wizard, and press the scroll key.
2. From the home screen, scroll to Start email setup, and press the Navikey. To confirm your selection, select Start email set-up.
3. Allow the network connection, and continue by selecting email.
4. Enter your email address, and select Ok.
5. Enter your password, and select Ok.
6. After the wizard has finished, you can adjust the settings. Select Options > Settings > email.

To get the right settings, contact your email service provider.


Mail for Exchange

Mail for Exchange is used to bring your business email to your device. You can take advantage of all the email features in the device. You can read and reply to your emails, and view and edit attachments. You can also keep up with your daily schedules by viewing calendar information, and receiving and replying to meeting requests. And you can stay connected to the people around you by keeping your contact information up to date.

Before starting, make sure that your company has Microsoft Exchange Server. You may also need to contact your company’s IT administrator to activate Mail for Exchange for your account, and to give you other additional information needed to install Mail for Exchange.

Install Mail for Exchange

1. From the home screen, scroll to the email wizard, and press the scroll key.
2. From the home screen, select Set up email, and press the scroll key. To confirm your selection, select Start email-set up.
3. Allow the network connection, and continue by selecting email.
4. Enter your email address, and select Ok.
5. Enter your password, and select Ok.
6. Enter your user name, and select Ok.
7. Select Mail for Exchange.
8. Enter the domain name of your network and select Ok.
9. Enter the Mail for Exchange server name and select Ok.
10. Select Yes to install the Mail for Exchange application to your device.


Emails and attachments

You can handle all your email from your device’s Messaging application. To enter your mailbox, select the application shortcut for Messaging directly from your home screen or choose Menu > Communic. > Messaging.

Read and reply to email

Read received email – Open it from the mailbox.
- email addressed to you is not automatically received by your device. First connect to your remote mailbox. When you select your mailbox in the Messaging main view, your device asks to Connect to mailbox. Select Yes to retrieve received email messages on your device.
Open an attachment – Select Options > Attachments. Scroll to the attachment, and press the scroll key.
Reply only to the sender – Select Options > Reply > To sender.
Reply to all recipients – Select Options > Reply > To all.
Forward an email - select Options > Forward.
Attach a file – Select Options > Insert, and the attachment you want to add.
Delete an attachment from an email that you are sending – Select the attachment and Options > Remove.




Write and send new email

1. Select New message > email.
2. Insert the email’s recipient(s).
You can enter the email addresses directly in the To field. If you want to import email addresses from Contacts, select Option > Add recipient. Use a semicolon to separate entries.
3. You can use the Cc field to send a copy to other recipients.
4. Enter the subject of the email in the Subject field.
5. Enter your email message in the text area.
6. Select Options > Send.

Delete message

1. To delete email from the device only, select Options > Delete > Phone (header remains).
2. To delete email both from the device and the remote server, select Options > Delete > Phone and server.
3. To cancel the deleting, select Options > Restore.

Tip
You can call the sender of the email message directly, if the sender is in your Contacts. To call, Select Options > Call.

Access your company’s intranet with Mobile VPN

You can use the Nokia mobile virtual private network (VPN) client to create a secure connection to compatible company intranets and services. To browse your company’s intranet, you must first create a company-specific VPN-policy. To install and configure the VPN client, certificates, and policies, you may contact the IT administrator of your organization for the necessary information. To create a VPN-policy, the IT administrator can use Nokia Mobile VPN Client Policy Tool http://www.businesssoftware.nokia.com/mobile_vpn_downloads.php.

Getting started with VPN

Once you have received a VPN policy file (.vpn) from your corporate IT-administrator, you need to transfer it to your device.
A .vpn file can be installed from files via File Manager or from the messaging, if you send the file to the device over Bluetooth or Infrared. After you have sent the file via Bluetooth or Infrared, it will appear in the messaging inbox.Open the file from the inbox to install the contained VPN policy and optional certificates and private key.

After installing the policy, configure VPN access points in Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > VPN > VPN access points.
The name of the connection will be shown when selecting the access point in applications. The VPN access point is associated with a VPN policy and an underlying bearer access point.

Access the intranet

1. Select Menu > Office > Intranet.
2. Select Options > Connect.

Using Dictionary

You can translate a word from one language to another by using the Mobile Dictionary application. In addition to the pre-installed language(s), you may download additional language dictionaries from the internet. The dictionary application allows you to have English and two user-defined languages on your device at the same time. You may freely change the two languages according to your needs.

Download more languages for your Dictionary

1. Access the Dictionary, select Menu > Office > Dictionary.
2. Select Options > Languages > Download languages, and press the scroll key.
3. Your E63 connects the internet automatically and the Nokia Mobile dictionary download page is shown.
4. From the page, select the language package you want to download, and follow the instructions on the display.

Remove a language from your Dictionary

1. Access the Dictionary, select Menu > Office > Dictionary.
2. Select Options > Languages, and select Remove language.

Translate a word with Dictionary

1. Access the Dictionary, select Menu > Office > Dictionary.
2. Select Options > Languages, and define the source and target languages for the translation.
3. Enter the word you are looking for in the search field. When you start typing the word, suggestions of words to translate are displayed.
4. To translate a word, scroll to it, and press the scroll key.


Organise your life with Calendar

Calendar can help you to keep track of events in your life. You can set different kind of entries in your calendar to remind you of meetings and special occasions. When you view the calendar, the current day is framed. Any days or dates that appear in bold contain calendar notes such as a meeting or memo.

Add a Calendar entry

1. To access Calendar, select the One-touch key for Calendar or select Menu > Office > Calendar.
2. Select the day > Options > New entry.
3. Select the type of entry you want to create:
Meeting – Enter a subject, location, start date and time, and end date and time.
Memo – Enter a subject, start date and time, end date and time, and description.
Anniversary – Enter the occasion, the date, and description.
To do – Enter a subject, date, and details.
4. Enter the details for the entry, and select Done.


Different views for the Calendar

The month view is the default view for the Calendar, but you can change it to day or week view as well.

Change the default view

1. Select in Calendar Settings > Default view.
2. Select from:
Month view – Shows the whole month and the days containing notes are in bold.
Week view - The notes are organised by week and the different types of notes are displayed with icons.
Day view - The notes for one day at a time are shown.
Agenda view – Shows the events for the selected day in a list.
To-do view – You see all the To-do items.
