Managing content on your home screen

To manage content on your home screen, first press your finger directly on a particular item and hold it for a few moments. A long press will open a pop-up menu, giving you the option to manipulate your content. You can add/remove items, and in some cases you can also change the settings.

Selecting items and viewing different options

A single tap is all it takes to use most of the functions on your Nokia N97. Tap the display once to select items from the menu or to open applications from the home screen.

A double tap is needed when using most of your applications. For example, when using the messaging application you can quickly open a message with a double tap of the screen. A single tap will only highlight the message.

Answering a call when your device is locked

To take an incoming call when your device is locked, simply swipe your finger across the onscreen Answer arrow in the direction of the arrow.

It's important to note that the answer keys won’t respond if your device is locked. Another way to unlock your Nokia N97 is to flip the lock switch at the side of your device.

Hiding content on your home screen

If you want a little privacy, you can hide the content on your home screen at any time by swiping your finger across the display. This takes you to the quiet screen, where your content will be hidden from view.

When you want to view your content, swipe the home screen again and all your items will reappear.
